Twenty seven Valley Aviation Society members were to answer a short notice request from RAF Valley. This was in regard to the proposed rehearsal of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Fly Past, which was to take place in the skies over RAF Mona on Tuesday, 15 May; whereby members of the public were invited to attended and permitted to park on the Anglesey Showground..
Following this most memorable and historic occasion, Media and Communications Officer, Flt Lt Rob Pitt, was to thank all members that had acted as stewards on the day by stating, "That they had ensured all parking was efficient, safe and had collected an astonishing sum for charity (approx £1000); the most that the Accounts Section have seen in a single day".
Unfortunately, by the time of this photograph, many of our stewards had scooted back to Valley in order to catch the returning aircraft.
